Source Range Estimation with Horizontal Arrays Using Frequency Difference Matched Field Processing in Shallow Water

چکیده

Abstract Due to the modal interference, ambiguity function of conventional matched field processing (CMFP) exists periodic solutions. To solve this problem, a frequency difference (FDMFP) method with horizontal linear array (HLA) for estimating source range is proposed. The calculates two-neighbor-frequency between measurement and replica each hydrophone, then computes high-order cross-spectrum. corresponding maximum optimal estimation. Because larger interference distances, FDMFP can efficiently provide one-only instead some CMFP.

Matched-field Source Localization with a Mobile Short Horizontal Linear Array in Offshore Shallow Water

Passive source localization in shallow water has always been an important and challenging problem. Implementing scientific research, surveying, and monitoring using a short, less than ten meter long, horizontal linear array has received considerable attention in the recent years. The short array can be conveniently placed on autonomous underwater vehicles and deployed for adaptive spatial sampl...

Source Depth Estimation Using a Horizontal Array by Matched-Mode Processing in the Frequency-Wavenumber Domain

In shallow water environments, matched-field processing (MFP) and matched-mode processing (MMP) are proven techniques for doing source localization. In these environments, the acoustic field propagates at long range as depth-dependent modes. Given a knowledge of the modes, it is possible to estimate source depth. In MMP, the pressure field is typically sampled over depth with a vertical line ar...

Source Localization in Shallow Water Using Multi-frequency Processing of Shot Data Source Localization in Shallow Water Using Multi-frequency Processing of Shot Data Source Localization in Shallow Water Using Multi-frequency Processing of Shot Data

Executive Summary: Single-frequency techniques which proved to be successful for source localization in deep-water are shown to be inadequate in littoral areas. To overcome this problem, the processing schemes need to be redesigned to extract and incorporate more information from the received signal and improve the estimates of parameters which describe the propagation channel. This report desc...

Source and environmental parameter estimation using electromagnetic matched field processing

Modern signal and array processing methods now incorporate the physics of wave propagation as an integral part of the processing. Matched field processing (MFP) refers to signal and array processing techniques in which, rather than a plane wave arrival model, complex-valued (amplitude and phase) field predictions for propagating signals are used. Matched field processing has been successfully a...

The impact of wind-generated bubble layer on matched field sound source localization in shallow water (Research Article)

This paper investigates the effect of the wind-generated bubble layer on the underwater sound source localization in the Persian Gulf shallow-water environment through computer simulation and the matched field processing technique. An underwater sound source of 2-10 kHz located at depths of 10, 45, and 75 m was considered at a distance of 4 km from a linear vertical receiver array. The estimati...
